Our Tradition Of Offering The Best Hospitality

Our History

The Burntwood Memorial Community Association stands as a timeless tribute to the valour and sacrifice of those who bravely served in the Great War of 1914-1918. What began as a heartfelt endeavor by the residents of Burntwood Parish to honor their fallen heroes blossomed into a cherished institution that continues to serve the community with unwavering dedication.

In January 1922, amidst the echoes of remembrance, the humble beginnings of the Community Centre took shape. With fervent determination and a shared vision, funds were raised to secure both the land and the modest wooden/tin huts that would serve as the cornerstone of the association. These humble beginnings laid the groundwork for a space where the community could come together, celebrate, mourn, and support one another.

Over the decades, the Community Centre grew in significance, becoming a vital hub for the people of Burntwood. Yet, as time marched forward, the need for renewal and revitalisation became apparent. In December 1971, a monumental chapter unfolded as the center underwent a complete reconstruction. Through extensive fundraising efforts and the gracious support of the Ministry for Education and Science, the Burntwood Memorial Community Association was reborn, rising from the ashes with renewed purpose and vigor.

The rebuilt center stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of remembrance and community solidarity. It serves not only as a physical space but as a beacon of hope, unity, and resilience. Generations come and go, but the legacy of sacrifice and service endures within its walls, inspiring all who pass through to cherish the past while embracing the future.

Today, as the Burntwood Memorial Community Association continues to thrive, it remains a living tribute to the heroes of the Great War and a testament to the power of collective action and remembrance. May its legacy endure for generations to come, honoring the sacrifices of the past while shaping a brighter tomorrow for all who call Burntwood home.
